5 July 2019 – The technical issue in Ludwigshafen which caused BASF to halt production of Lutavit A 1000 NXT and Lutavit A/D3 1000/200 NXT in mid-June is understood to be a significant temperature increase which led to thermal damage in a dryer, Feedinfo News Service has learned today.

At this juncture, it is unlikely that BASF will resume production ahead of its previously scheduled September-October maintenance shutdown. It would now seem that production of Lutavit A 1000 NXT and Lutavit A/D3 1000/200 NXT will only resume in November 2019 at the earliest.

It is understood, however, that BASF will continue to honour written contractual obligations for these products until the end of 2019.
